Considerations for Outdoor LCD Displays

Outdoor LCD signage is still in the early phases of adoption across the digital signage industry and there’s still not a lot of common knowledge around it. You’d think our experience with indoor digital signage would transfer to outdoors, but in reality the divide between two is wider than you’d expect. Think about it, your average indoor signage operates in a bubble – regulated temperature, low humidity, indoor light levels, clean air, consistent power, and little chance of vandalism. Outdoors, everything is different.

Outdoor digital displays have to be able to withstand direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, heavy humidity, rain, snow, dust, dirt, wind, and vandalism. How this is achieved varies by who you chose to work with.
