What is an open frame display?
An open frame display is a display assembly designed for integration into another piece of equipment rather than use as a standalone monitor. It typically combines the LCD, controller, power electronics and mounting structure while leaving the final external enclosure to the equipment manufacturer.
What is the difference between an LCD panel and an open frame display?
An LCD panel is primarily the display component itself. An open frame display integrates additional components such as the controller board, power system and mechanical mounting structure, reducing the integration work required by the equipment manufacturer.
Can you customize the dimensions of an open frame display?
The overall structure, mounting positions and PCB arrangement can often be adapted around an existing enclosure, subject to the physical limitations of the selected LCD panel and other components.
Can I send you my enclosure drawing?
Yes. Mechanical drawings, STEP files or existing display drawings are useful for evaluating fit, mounting and connector placement.
Can open frame displays be used outdoors?
Yes, but an open frame display by itself is not necessarily weatherproof. Outdoor suitability depends on the LCD, brightness, thermal architecture, front glass, sealing and final enclosure.
For fully exposed outdoor applications, a complete outdoor display system may be more appropriate.
What brightness do I need outdoors?
There is no universal brightness requirement. Ambient light, reflection, optical bonding, cover glass, viewing conditions and thermal limitations all affect the appropriate luminance.

Do you provide high-TNI LCD options?
Selected LCD platforms can be configured with high-TNI technology for applications requiring increased thermal margin. The exact temperature capability depends on the selected panel.

Yes, selected open frame displays can be integrated with PCAP touch, customized cover glass and optional optical bonding.
Can you customize UART or RS232 commands?
Selected controller platforms support UART / RS232 control and firmware customization. Available commands and development requirements should be confirmed for each controller platform.
